A bstract We study Fateev-Zamolodchikov-Zamolodchikov-Teschner (FZZT) branes in Witten-Kontsevich topological gravity, which includes Jackiw-Teitelboim (JT) gravity as a special case. Adding FZZT to corresponds inserting determinant operators the dual matrix integral and amounts certain shift of infinitely many couplings gravity. clarify perturbative interpretation adding genus expansion terms simple boundary factor generalized Weil-Petersson volumes. As concrete illustration we JT presence discuss its relation deformations dilaton potential that give rise conical defects. then construct non-perturbative formulation derive closed expression for general correlation function multiple macroscopic loops. an application FZZT-macroscopic loop correlators Airy observe numerically void eigenvalue density due repulsion induced by FZZT-branes also oscillatory behavior spectral form is expected from picture eigenbranes.
